Etobicoke Creek Trail

Merry – almost – Christmas! I’m heading to my aunt’s today to help set up the craft room for the kids tomorrow night. To make the most of my time out, I decided to go for another piece of the Etobicoke Creek Trail that runs through Brampton (which is near my aunt’s place).

This is a little different, however – just a little – as I am looking to get back in to running in the new year. I’m going to be splitting my adventures between running and hiking now. Though I hope to keep up both every week, at least once.

This little outing on the Etobicoke Creek Trail proved to me how very long it has been since I last ran any sort of distance. You would think hiking nearly every weekend would account for some cardio? You’d be wrong.

I started in to splits of 1:30 minutes running, then 2:00 minutes walking. The first couple run bits were “okay” but the next three were not.

I definitely took a bit longer than 2:00 minutes between the last couple runs haha.

Etobicoke Creek Trail doesn’t disappoint any further north you go. I’ve still got a piece to knock off. That’s for another run. Or walk, as I’ve tracked this one to be. I am not tracking “running” until my splits are longer in runs.

Hoping to get back in to the swing of this running business, without completely injuring the strains I’ve acquired through hiking. Guess it’s time to take stretching a little more seriously again.

Have you made any new years resolutions yet? Do you starting setting yourself up for them this year, or do you prefer to start fresh?
